On Thursday, September 19 at 7:00 p.m., Ms. Christine
Schadler will present “The Real Eastern Coyote” at Leach Library.
Ms.
Schadler is a member of the Northeast Wolf Coalition, representative for
Project Coyote in New Hampshire and Vermont, and co-founder of the NH Wildlife
Coalition. She has a Master’s in
Conservation Biology from Antioch University.
Beginning in the early 1990s, she taught conservation and wolf ecology
classes at UNH and went on to receive many teaching excellence awards.
Despite the
ecological benefits the Eastern Coyote brings, it is the most persecuted
carnivore in North America. Join Ms.
Schadler as she explains how and when it arrived in New England, how it lives
among us but is rarely seen, and how it contributes to keep our forests and
fields healthy.
This
program is free and open to the public with seating limited to the first 90
individuals. It will be held in the
library’s lower-level meeting room. Light
refreshments will be served.
