On
Thursday, May 16 at 7:00 p.m., the Leach Library will host Ms. Ellie Roden for
an evening presentation of “Art from the Garden: Creating with Pressed
Flowers”.
Ms. Roden,
a longtime resident of Southern Vermont and retired primary school teacher, has
been creating art with pressed flowers for many years. As a self-taught pressed flower artist, Ellie
has honed her craft over the years through trial and error and careful observation. Her award-winning pressed flower art has been
exhibited at shows and in galleries throughout New England and featured in two
national publications.
Ms.
Roden will offer ways to preserve flowers, leaves, and other plant material and
transform them into beautiful art. She
will share some of her own work as well as various flower pressing techniques,
tips, and ideas.
This
program is sponsored by the Friends of the Londonderry Leach Library. The event is free and open to the public with
seating limited to the first 90 individuals.
It will be held in the library’s lower-level meeting room. Light refreshments will be served.
