Children's Summer Reading Programs

“This land is your land”
Travel across the country at the Leach Library on Monday, July 16 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. During this program, participants will hear stories from the many interesting places that make up our country. From towering redwoods to granite faces, these stories may inspire participants to a plan trip. Registration is required and begins the Thursday prior to the program.

“Story Time – Puddle jumpers”
Stomp into the Leach Library on Tuesday, July 17 from
10:00 – 10:30 a.m. to hear stories of the many joys to be found in the rain. Patrons of all ages are invited to an energetic half-hour program of exciting stories, frolicking finger plays, and sensational songs. Each week, one lucky patron will win a special raffle prize. No registration is required for this drop-in program.
“Animal Communicators”
Join Wildlife Encounters at the Leach Library on Wednesday, July 18 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and learn how animals communicate with each other. How do animals know where to find the tastiest food, where to avoid the stickiest swamp or when to leave for migration? From the twitch of a tail to the tweet of a beak, animals get the message across in many interesting ways. Animal ambassadors may include a Brazilian porcupine, bird and fox (live animals). This program is being sponsored by The Friends of the Londonderry Leach Library. Registration is required and begins the Thursday prior to the program.
“Craft Time – Create your own door hanger”
Come to the Leach Library on Thursday, July 19 from
10:00 – 10:45 a.m., or 1:00 – 1:45 p.m., to create your door hanger. During this program, patrons will be able to decorate their door hangers using a wide variety of materials. Each session is open to 70 participants. Registration is required and begins the Thursday prior to the program.
