Children's Summer Reading Programs


“Birds of a feather”
Flock to the Leach Library on Monday, July 23 from
11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. to hear stories of birds of all shapes and sizes. During this program, participants will hear stories of many different types of birds, will have an opportunity to help build a bird puzzle, and try to identify different birds based on their shapes. We may even listen to the sounds of different bird songs. Registration is required and begins the Thursday prior to the program.
“Story Time – Picnic”
Come to the Leach Library on Tuesday, July 24 from
10:00 – 10:30 a.m. to celebrate the joy of a picnic. Patrons of all ages are invited to an energetic half-hour program of exciting stories, frolicking finger plays, and sensational songs. Each week, one lucky patron will win a special raffle prize. No registration is required for this drop-in program.
“Big Ryan’s Tall Tales” 
Join storyteller Big Ryan at the Leach Library on Wednesday, July 25 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. for an exciting program full of puppets, music, juggling, and more. During this fun-filled program, Big Ryan will entertain participants with stories that will tickle their funny bone and put a smile on their face. Registration is required and begins the Thursday prior to the program.
“Craft Time – Paint your own wind chimes”
Come to the Leach Library on Thursday, July 26 from
10:00 – 10:45 a.m., or 1:00 – 1:45 p.m., to paint your own hot air balloon inspired wind chimes. During this program, patrons will be able to decorate their wind chimes with special paint. Each session is open to 70 participants.  Registration is required and begins the Thursday prior to the program.
