Children's Summer Reading Programs

“I’m with the band”
Rock out at the Leach Library on Monday, July 9 from
11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. with stories of musicians who like to rock and roll. From punk rock skunks to a band of bears, these stories may inspire audience members to form a band of their own. There will be a chance to match musical instruments, and a musical bell performance at the end to round out our program. Registration is required and begins the Thursday prior to the program.

“Story Time – Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear”
Come to the Leach Library on Tuesday, July 10 from
10:00 – 10:30 a.m. to hear stories of everyone’s favorite fuzzy friend. Patrons of all ages are invited to an energetic half-hour program of exciting stories, frolicking finger plays, and sensational songs. Each week, one lucky patron will win a special raffle prize. No registration required for this drop in program.

“Turtle’s Wetland Quest Puppet Show”
Join Deborah Costine at the Leach Library on Wednesday, July 11 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. for her Turtle’s Wetland Quest puppet show. Blanding the turtle is in search of a new, safe wetland home. A road has been built between her pond and the sandy hill where she goes to lay her eggs. How will she cross the road? When Blanding meets Castor the beaver, who is eager to build a dam, she thinks her problem is solved! New friends, including Edward, Rachel, and a Blue Spotted Salamander, follow Blanding on her adventure through nature. Registration is required and begins the Thursday prior to the program.

“Craft Time – Design your own coin bank”
Come to the Leach Library on Thursday, July 12 from
10:00 – 10:45 a.m., or 1:00 – 1:45 p.m., to decorate a cool coin bank. During this program, patrons will be able to decorate their bank using craft sticks, markers, and a variety of materials. Each session is open to 70 participants. Registration is required and begins the Thursday prior to the program.
