Finale Festivities for the Children’s Summer Reading Program

This year we will be winding down our summer with a week of special programs. Advance registration for these special programs is required. To register, stop by the Children’s Room, or call 432-1127 beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 3. The schedule of events is as follows:
 “Cat’s Meow” Come to the library on Monday, August 7, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. for the perfect ending to the summer that is The Cat’s Meow.  During this program participants will hear stories of cats wild and tame. We will dance along to “Everybody wants to be a cat”, identify famous cats and try to guess the type of wild cat based on their fur. Each participant will leave with a small plush cat. Registration is required and begins the Thursday prior to the program.

“Tons of Fun”
Relax and enjoy Tons of Fun at the library on Tuesday, August 8, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Hear stories of some of the biggest animals in the world. Elephants, whales and dinosaurs will leap off the pages of these exciting stories. Participants will have a chance to play a “who’s heavier” game and march in time with Colonel Hathi. Each participant will receive a plush whale to take home. Registration is required and begins the Thursday prior to the program.

“The Great Baldini Magic Show”
Join The Great Baldini at the library from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 9, for a magical journey. During this fun-filled program, audience members will be amazed by the Great Baldini’s tricks and skill with lots of exciting props. Filled with lots of audience participation, audience members will be awed and entertained. Registration is required and begins the Thursday prior to the program.

“Exotic Animal Adventure”
Join Animal Adventures for an Exotic Animal Adventure at the library on Thursday, August 10 from 11:00 a.m.  - 12:00 p.m. During this amazing program, participants will visit with amazing and exotic animals; learn all about their characteristics, habitat and other interesting facts. There will be a chance to get up close and personal with some of our animal visitors and those participants who wish to, may even have a chance to touch some of the animals. Some of the animals may include an alligator, tortoise, kinkajou and Eurasian eagle owl (live animals). Registration is required and begins the Thursday prior to the program.

Those who haven’t yet reached their goal are still invited to attend the special programs. They can pick up their prize bag from the Children’s Room when they have reached their goal, ending on Saturday, September 9, 2017.
