On
Thursday, January 9 at 7:00 p.m., the Leach Library will offer Mr. Stephen
Carey’s presentation “Wood Art for the Average Woodworker and Hobbyist”.
Stephen
Carey’s involvement with woodworking began in a high school shop class and
continues to this day. He has thrived in a home shop for over forty years,
making unique creations of wood art. He
lectures on wood art in and around his home state of New Hampshire.
Mr.
Carey will show attendees how to make unique wood art using average tools and
supplies. He will display some of his
work and explain the process behind techniques such as segmented wood turning
and linear radius turning. He will also
explore some simple homemade gifts which one can create on a budget.
This
program is sponsored by the Friends of the Londonderry Leach Library. The event is free and open to the public with
seating limited to the first 90 individuals.
It will be held in the library’s lower-level meeting room. Light refreshments will be served.
