On Thursday, October 14 at 7:00 p.m., the Londonderry Leach Library will host the illustrated presentation “Haunted Lighthouses of New England” with lighthouse historian Jeremy D’Entremont.
Jeremy D’Entremont has been photographing and writing about lighthouses for the past twenty-five years. He is the author of eight books on the topic, including The Lighthouses of Maine and The Lighthouse Handbook: New England. He has been recognized as the leading expert on New England’s historic lighthouses and has appeared on the History Channel, the Travel Channel, Public Television, and National Public Radio speaking on the topic. He is currently the president and historian for the American Lighthouse Foundation and the founder of Friends of Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse.
In this talk, Mr. D’Entremont will focus on mysterious tales of eerie activities in several New England lighthouses, including Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse in New Castle, New Hampshire. The presentation will feature a slideshow of historic and new photographs of lighthouses in the region, as well as audio clips.
The event is free and open to the public, and will be held in the library’s lower-level meeting room. Light refreshments will be served.
