“Introduction to Winter Hiking in the White Mountains” at Leach Library

On Thursday, November 15 at 7:00 p.m., the Leach Library welcomes Tim Kennedy and Marianne Page who will present “Introduction to Winter Hiking in the White Mountains”.

Mr. Kennedy has been winter hiking since 1970.  He recently completed the White Mountains Grid, having hiked all forty-eight New Hampshire 4,000-foot peaks in every month of the year.  Ms. Page has also hiked all forty-eight New Hampshire 4,000-foot peaks in every season, all sixty-seven 4,000-foot mountains in New England, and New Hampshire’s 100 highest peaks.  Both presenters are members of the New Hampshire Chapter of the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC-NH).

During the presentation, they will discuss hiking preparedness, including equipment, emergency gear, food, and fluids.  Attendees will learn how to continue their hiking adventures into the winter season.

This program is free and open to the public with seating limited to the first 90 individuals.  It will be held in the library’s lower-level meeting room.  Light refreshments will be served.
