Upcoming Children's Room Programs

“Spring Session 2 Programs”

The Leach Library Children’s Room will be offering the following programs as part of Spring Session 2: Craft Time; Shake, Move and Read; and Toddler Time. Spring Session 2 will start May 2 and end May 24. Advance registration is required and begins at 9:00 a.m. Monday, April 23.

“Craft Time”

Calling all children! Children of all ages are invited to the library on Wednesdays from 9:30 – 10:15 a.m. to explore their creative side. Each week, participants will discover a different fun craft to make using a variety of materials. Advance registration is required. Meeting dates are: 5/2, 5/9, 5/16 and 5/23.

“Shake, Move & Read”

This engaging program is open to participants of all ages. Shake, Move & Read allows families to explore books through movement and music. Each week, participants will energetically explore a different theme using songs, fantastic finger plays, a story and simple craft. From the opening welcome song to the final finger play, participants will be moving and grooving the afternoon away. This exhilarating and fun-filled program is open to participants of all ages and will be held on Wednesdays from 4:00 – 4:45 p.m. Advance registration is required. Meeting dates are: 5/2, 5/9, 5/16 and 5/23.

“Toddler Time”

This program is open to children ages 2 & 3. Children attend with their parents and enjoy a fun half-hour of thematic stories, games, songs and a simple craft. Meets on Thursdays, 9:30 - 10:00 a.m. Advance registration is required. Meeting dates are: 5/3, 5/10, 5/17 and 5/24.

“April Vacation Scavenger Hunt Bingo”

The Leach Library Children’s Room will be offering a fun new twist on two classic games during April vacation. Starting Monday, April 23 and ending on Saturday, April 28, participants can pick up a bingo card in the Children’s Room, then explore the library to collect items that will make bingo: five in a row vertically, horizontally or diagonally. Return the items to the Children’s Room for a special treat and a raffle ticket for a chance to win a prize bag.

“April Vacation Craft”

Starting Monday, April 23 and ending on Saturday, April 28, participants will have a chance to create their own colorful swimming fish. Stop by the Leach Library Children’s Room desk to pick up the supplies and create your perfect spring accessory in the library, or in the comfort of your own home.
