Upcoming Children's Room Programs

February Vacation Scavenger Hunt”
During February vacation, Monday, February 22 through Saturday, February 27, the Children’s Room will be offering an in-library scavenger hunt. Stop by the Children’s Room desk for a list of items to find around the building. Turn in the completed hunt for a raffle ticket and a chance to win a fun prize.
“February Vacation Craft”
Starting Monday, February 22 through closing on Saturday, February 27, during February vacation, participants will have a chance to create their own door hanger. Stop by the Children’s Room desk to pick up the supplies and create your room decoration in the library, or in the comfort of your own home.
“Why Do Animals Do That?”
Animals in nature do a lot of strange things. For example: Why gnaw on wood if they don’t eat it?  Join the Squam Lake Natural Science Center at the library on Monday, February 29 from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. to explore the answers to questions like these and to learn what the benefits are to the animals that actually practice these behaviors. Live animal visitors may include a beaver, owl and a snake (live animals). This amazing program is open to 90 participants of all ages. Advance registration is required and begins at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, February 22. To register, call 432-1127 or stop by the Children’s Room.
