“Wild Planet”
Join Wildlife Encounters at the library on Tuesday, October
13 from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. and meet some amazing animals and learn how they help
to keep the planet healthy. Whether digging, eating or walking, animals play an
important role in our ecology. From animals that help seeds to travel, to those
that keep the soil healthy, these animals are as vital to the earth as they are
fascinating to meet. Animal ambassadors that may be present include a goat,
parrot and skunk as well as various bugs and insects (live animals). This
program is open to all ages, and space is limited to 90 people. Advance
registration for this exciting program is required and begins at 9:00 a.m. on
Monday, October 5. To register call 432-1127 or come by the Children’s Room.
“Ladybug Award”
The library is pleased to be participating in the Ladybug
Award voting this year. Each year,
librarians from around the state nominate ten outstanding picture books to be
voted on by the children of New Hampshire. Students in preschool through grade
3 can vote on their favorite book from the list of nominated titles. The books
will be on display this month and next. Stop by and read one of the titles and
be ready to cast your vote. Ladybug Award Voting begins at 9:00 a.m. on Monday,
November 9 and concludes at closing on Saturday, November 14. Everyone who
votes will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win a fun Ladybug prize bag.
