On Thursday, October 22 at 7:00 p.m., the Leach Library will
host an evening of lyrical storytelling“Heartpounders: Halloween Tales”
presented by storyteller and composer Mr. Odds Bodkin.
Odds Bodkin, master storyteller, author, creative musician,
and educator, has been spellbinding audiences with his storytelling
performances for more than thirty years. Mr. Bodkin has performed or taught at
many universities throughout the country, including Harvard, Syracuse, Dartmouth,
Purdue, Michigan State, Loyola University Maryland, and Antioch New England
University.
Join us as Odds Bodkin tells spooky
tales of Halloween accompanied by full musical scores on a twelve-string guitar
with character narrations and voices. Mr. Bodkins may perform The
Storm Breeder, an old New England "flying Dutchman" ghost
legend based on Peter Rugg: The Missing Man of Boston, and The Girl Who Danced with the Devil, the
French Canadian legend of Rose LaTulippe.
This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Londonderry
Leach Library. The event is free and open to the public with seating limited to
the first 90 individuals. It will be held in the library’s lower-level meeting
room. Light refreshments will be served.
