Upcoming Children's Room Programs

Final Festivities

This year we will be winding down our summer with a week of special programs. Advance registration for these special programs is required and begins on Thursday, August 7 at 9:00 a.m. To register, call 432-1127 or stop by the Children’s Room. The schedule of events is as follows:

“Polar Worlds”

On Monday, August 11, we will take a trip to Polar Worlds from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Cool off at the library with some stories of the coldest places on earth. From the animals that live there to the stunning scenery and amazing mysteries of nature, these stories will leave you wishing for a few snowflakes to fall. Each participant will leave with a plush arctic friend. Registration is required and begins the Thursday prior to the program.

“All Aboard”

On Tuesday, August 12, come All Aboard trains at the library from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Ride the rails during this exciting program. Participants will hear the stories of different types of trains, from the super-fast to the slow and steady, and sing some well-known train songs. Each participant will receive a wooden train whistle. Registration is required and begins the Thursday prior to the program.

“Bubbleology”

On Wednesday, August 13, explore Bubbleology when the library hosts Keith Michael Johnson’s program from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. During this exciting program, participants will explore solids, liquids, films, tension and pressure and watch Keith use inventive tools and techniques to make bubbles like you’ve never imagined before. Registration is required and begins the Thursday prior to the program.

“Alligators and Crocodiles of the World”

On Thursday, August 14, meet Alligators and Crocodiles of the World at the library from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Rainforest Reptile Shows’ crocodile specialist will take you from the birth of crocodilians to adulthood and the many stages in between. After the program you will have a chance to get up close and personal with some of our alligator and crocodile friends. Animals may include an alligator, crocodile and caiman (live animals). Registration is required and begins the Thursday prior to the program.
