Young Adult Summer Reading Program

This year’s Young Adult Summer Reading Program will be Spark a Reaction. Come explore new worlds and discover what sparks your imagination at the library this summer. Sign up begins on June 2, 2014. As part of the program, there will be Thursday evening meetings held downstairs in the meeting room, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., except for movie night which runs from 5:00 to 7:15 p.m. Come and join us for fun, good company, great snacks and door prizes at every meeting.

Even if you can’t attend the meetings, you may sign up and read to earn raffle tickets and the chance for some really good prizes. This year prizes include Cinema 12 gift certificates, golf certificates from the Londonderry Country Club, and an American Eagle Gift Certificate among others. All raffle tickets must be turned in by 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 11, 2014.

Are you up for a challenge? If you sign up by June 16 and have read the most books by that date, you will be entered into a raffle to win a commemorative trunk of Harry Potter books. If two or more people are tied, a winner will be picked by lottery.

The participant that reads the most books this summer between June 2 and September 6, 2014 will win the Janice Anagnos Memorial Summer Reading Certificate and a special prize. Keep a log of the books you read and turn it in by closing time on September 6, 2014 to be eligible for this prize.
