Adult Summer Reading Program

The 2014 Adult Summer Reading Program theme is Literary Elements.

Registration for the program began on Monday, June 2 and runs through Saturday, August 30. The program is open to any Leach Library adult card-holder. Participants may register at any time at the Reference Desk where they will receive an information sheet and a Tic-Tac-Toe game to be completed during the summer. This sheet can be turned in when three blocks are completed for a chance to win a prize. The first participants to register will also receive a sign-up incentive in addition to the information sheet and tic-tac-toe game. Please note that quantities of the sign-up incentive are limited and are available first come, first serve.

For every book read after registering for the program, participants will receive one raffle ticket. These tickets can be completed and returned for entry into weekly raffle drawings. Prizes for the weekly raffle drawings include a variety of items; many of them featuring the “Literary Elements” logo. Additionally, gift certificates will be raffled off that have been generously donated by local businesses such as The Coach Stop Restaurant, Coffeeberries, Giovannis, Janie’s Uncommon CafĂ©, Prosciuttos Pizza, Sweet Kiwis, and T-Bones/Cactus Jack. The participant who reads the most books over the summer will receive a Grand Prize gift basket.

Check out our central display each month during June through August for a selection of reading material with different monthly topics relating to the theme and pick up a copy of the month’s game at the same time. Complete the game sheet and return to the Reference Desk. Every completed game sheet that answers all questions correctly will be entered into a monthly prize drawing.
