Upcoming Children's Programs at the Leach Library

Leach Library Children’s Room hosts a Children’s Book Week Raffle.

Children’s Book Week is May 13 – 18 this year. To celebrate, for each book checked out of the Children’s Room during this week, you will earn a raffle ticket for a cool book bag. Raffle tickets may be turned in until closing on Saturday, May 18.

Leach Library Children’s Room to host All about Whales program.

How big do whales get? What kinds of whales live near us? Why do some whales have teeth and some don’t? The Seacoast Science Center will be at the library on Monday, May 20 from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. to answer these and other questions about whales during their All about Whales program. Participants will learn amazing facts about these enormous, fascinating marine mammals. They will also hear the life story of Tofu, a young humpback whale who lived in the Gulf of Maine. Those participants who wish will have a chance to touch real whale bones at the end of the program. This program is open to 90 participants and advance registration is required and begins on Monday, May 13. To register, call 432-1127 or come by the Children’s Room.

Play Book Bingo during at the Leach Library Children’s Room. The library will be hosting a fun picture version of the popular game on Thursday, May 23 from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. Every participant, children and adults, will have a chance to win books from our special selection tables. Pick a book for yourself, or maybe one for someone special. This program is open to 90 participants and advance registration is required. To register, call 432-1127, or stop by the Children’s Room beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, May 13.
