Winter Session 2 programs at the Leach Library Children’s Room.


The Children’s Room is offering a wide range of exciting, age appropriate programs during our Winter Session 2, which runs from February 5 through February 28. During each of our four week sessions, participants of all ages are invited to explore the wonder of books in a variety of engaging ways. Join us during Winter Session 2:

On Tuesdays, take an adventure to around the work from 4:00 – 4:45 p.m. during Passport to Adventure. In this program, participants of all ages use stories, songs, activities and a simple craft to explore different destinations. At each session, participants will have their passport stamped, and those participants who attend all four sessions will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a special prize.

On Wednesdays, children ages 4 to 6 are welcome to our Story Time program. Children attend this program without their caregiver from 9:30 – 10:15 a.m. and enjoy thematic stories, games, songs and a simple craft.

Also on Wednesdays, from 4:00 – 4:45 p.m., the Children’s Room is pleased to announce an exciting new program Shake, Move & Read. This program allows participants of all ages to explore books through movement and music. Each week, participants will energetically explore a different theme using songs, fantastic finger plays, a story and simple craft. From the opening welcome song, to the final finger play, participants will be moving and grooving the afternoon away.

On Thursdays, our Toddler Time program is open to children ages 2 & 3 and their caregivers from 9:30 – 10:00 a.m. During this program, participants will enjoy theme based stories, songs, activities and a simple craft.

Advance registration is required for these programs and began on Monday, January 28. For information regarding registration, please stop by the Children’s Room or call 432-1127.

During this time period, we will also be hosting some special programs such as Sweetheart Book Bingo and Tommy James’ The Magic of Books. More specific details on these exciting program opportunities will follow.
