Leach Library to Host Musical Duo ‘Kirsten & Dave’

On Thursday, October 11, at 7:00 p.m. the Leach Library will host an evening of acoustic music featuring the duo, ‘Kirsten & Dave’.

Kirsten Manville and Dave Simmons have been playing together for over ten years, with 25 years of performing experience between them. They have opened for many musicians, including Guy Davis. Kirsten attended Bowdoin College where she studied flute and voice before moving to the Nashville music scene for several years, and then home to New England. Dave has been involved in the North Shore cultural community since the early nineties, during which he has played rhythm guitar in a 7-piece blues, ska, and swing jazz band, in addition to producing and participating in, local cultural events.

This program will feature Kirsten and Dave performing their mix of original and cover songs. Playing a variety of instruments, the two performers swap off melodies and harmonies. The duo’s diverse backgrounds are the key to their success at performing a variety of musical styles. Whether they are playing acoustic pop, country, blues, folk, or bluegrass, their love for music is obvious.

The event is free and open to the public, and will be held in the library’s lower-level meeting room. Light refreshments will be served.
