Bats at the Leach Library Children’s Room


Looking for a way to pass the time on Columbus Day? The library is open and celebrating the International year of the Bat with the Squam Lake Science Center’s presentation of “The Truth About Bats” on Monday, October 8 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. During this engaging program, participants will learn about the diversity of these animals and the importance they play in nature. Live brown bats, as well as a life size bat model and other props will help audience members get a clearer view of these nocturnal mammals (live animals). This program is open to all ages, and space is limited to 90 people. Advance registration for this exciting program is required and begins at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, October 1.
