Two Adult Programs at the Leach Library in April!

Leach Library to Host “Native American Stories”

On Thursday, April 19 at 7:00 p.m., the Leach Library will offer the program “Native American Stories” by Anne Jennison.

Ms. Jennison is a New Hampshire-based storyteller and descendant of many generations that have lived in the Northeastern Woodlands.  She has earned Master’s degrees in both Storytelling and History, and she brings a wealth of knowledge gained through 30 years of experience as a performing storyteller.

Join us as she shares stories and cultural traditions of the Northeastern Woodlands.  She will interweave song, drumming, audience participation, drama, and humor throughout her storytelling performance.

This program is free and open to the public with seating limited to the first 90 individuals.  It will be held in the library’s lower-level meeting room.  Light refreshments will be served.


Leach Library to Host Talk on Tickborne Diseases

On Thursday, April 26 at 1:00 p.m., Carolyn Fredette will discuss “Tickborne Diseases” during an educational presentation at the Leach Library.

Carolyn Fredette is the Vectorborne Disease Epidemiologist at the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Public Health Services (DPHS).  She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences-Medical Microbiology from the University of New Hampshire (UNH) in 2011 and a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from UNH in 2014.

Ms. Fredette will review the signs and symptoms of tickborne diseases as well as the ways to prevent illness.  The audience will learn about the health hazards ticks pose in our area and have the opportunity to ask questions.

This program is free and open to the public with seating limited to the first 90 individuals.  It will be held in the library’s lower-level meeting room.  Light refreshments will be served.
