“Tiny Houses: A Very Different Approach to Home Ownership” at Leach Library

On Thursday, January 18 at 7:00 p.m., the Leach Library will host the program “Tiny Houses: A Very Different Approach to Home Ownership” by Isa Bauer.

Ms. Bauer is the Project Manager and lead designer for Tiny House Northeast.  She earned an M.A. in Regional Economic and Social Development with a concentration in Sustainable Development, including green building materials and construction methods research.  Ms. Bauer has owned a tiny house since she was 19-years old.

In this presentation, Ms. Bauer will focus on the basics of planning for and owning a tiny house on wheels; both its challenges and advantages. She will offer unique insights from the currently popular tiny house themed TV shows.  From approximately "how much" to "where to live", the presentation will address options for general design as well as heat, hot water, and electricity choices.

The event is free and open to the public with seating limited to the first 90 individuals.  It will be held in the library’s lower-level meeting room.  Light refreshments will be served.
