Final Festivities for the Children's Summer Reading Program

 This year we will be winding down our summer with a week of special programs.  Advance registration for these special programs is required and begins on Thursday, August 4 at 9:00 a.m. To register, call 432-1127 or stop by the Children’s Room. The schedule of events is as follows: 
“Rainforest Rendezvous” 
Journey to the Brazilian rainforest on Monday, August 8, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. During this program, participants will hear stories of the many exotic animals that make their home in this lush landscape. Participants will have a chance match feathers on a parrot and sing a rousing jungle version of “If you’re happy and you know it”. All participants will leave with a plush jungle frog of their very own. Registration is required and begins the Thursday prior to the program.
“Dog Days” 
Relax and enjoy the Dog Days of summer on Tuesday, August 9, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. During this program we will hear about dogs that swim, sail and enjoy all that summer has to offer. Participants will have a chance to identify different dog breeds. Each participant will receive a plush dog to take home. Registration is required and begins the Thursday prior to the program.
“Amazing Aniamls” 
Join Wildlife Encounters at the library on Wednesday, August 10, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. to meet some truly Amazing Animals. During this exciting program, participants will meet a variety of animal ambassadors from around the world and learn the fascinating features that makes each unique. Those participants who wish may even have the opportunity to touch some of the animals. Live animal visitors may include a Brazilian porcupine, kookaburra and African serval cat (live animals). Registration is required and begins the Thursday prior to the program
“Comedy Juggling Show
On Thursday, August 11, the library will be hosting Bryson Lang’s interactive, high energy Comedy Juggling Show from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. This face-paced program features lots of audience participation and amazing feats of skill. Audience members will be absolutely amazed and will be laughing throughout the whole program. Come see why this show is the “Cure for the Common Show”! Registration is required and begins the Thursday prior to the program.

Those who haven’t yet reached their goal are still invited to attend the special programs.  They can pick up their prize bag from the Children’s Room when they have reached their goal, until closing on Saturday, September 10, 2016.
