Upcoming Children's Room Programs

“Happy Birthday Johnny Appleseed”

Come to the library on Monday, September 14 from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. to celebrate Johnny Appleseed’s birthday. During this exciting program we will hear Johnny’s story, as well as other fabulous apple themed tales. Participants will discover Johnny’s ties to Londonderry, learn all about one of our favorite fruits and play an apple matching game. Each participant will leave with a Johnny Appleseed hat to decorate at home and a soft squeezable apple to help commemorate this festive day. Advance registration is required and begins at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 8. To register, call 432-1127 or stop by the Children’s Room.

“Fall Session 1 Programs” 

The Children’s Room will be offering the following programs as part of Fall Session 1: Craft Time, Shake Move & Read and Toddler Time. Fall Session 1 will run September 16 through October 8. Advance registration is required and begins at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 8. To register call 432-1127 or stop by the Children’s Room.                             

“Craft Time” - Calling all children! Children of all ages are invited to the library to explore their creative side. Using a variety of materials, each week participants will discover a different fun craft to create. Meets on Wednesdays, 9:30 - 10:15 a.m. Advance registration is required. Meeting dates are: 9/16, 9/23, 9/30 and 10/7.

“Shake, Move & Read” - This engaging program is open to participants of all ages. Each week, participants will energetically explore a different theme using songs, fantastic finger plays, a story and simple craft. From the opening welcome song, to the final finger play, participants will be moving and grooving the afternoon away. This exhilarating and fun-filled program is open to participants of all ages and will be held on Wednesdays from 4:00 – 4:45 p.m. Advance registration is required. Meeting dates are: 9/16, 9/23, 9/30 and 10/7.

“Toddler Time” - This program is open to children ages 2 & 3. Children attend with their parents and enjoy a fun half-hour of thematic stories, games, songs and a simple craft. Meets on Thursdays, 9:30 - 10:00 a.m. Advance registration is required. Meeting dates are: 9/17, 9/24, 10/1 and 10/8.
