This year we will be winding down our summer with a week of
special programs. Advance registration
for these special programs is required and begins on Thursday, August 6 at 9:00
a.m. To register, call 432-1127 or stop by the Children’s Room. The schedule of
events is as follows:
“Penguin Tales”
On Monday, August 10,
waddle into fun at the library from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. for fun with Penguin Tales. During this program we
will hear stories of penguins from all around the world. We will learn what
makes a penguin unique and even play a penguin matching game. Each participant
will leave with a stuffed penguin friend. Registration is required and
begins the Thursday prior to the program.
“Ancient Heroes”
On Tuesday, August 11, meet Ancient Heroes from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. During this program we
will hear stories of the heroes as they battle gods and monsters and strive to
save the world. Each participant will receive a stuffed “Trojan” horse. Registration
is required and begins the Thursday prior to the program.
“Animal Adventures”
On Wednesday, August 12, join Animal Adventures from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. for an amazing
animal program. During this program participants will meet a plethora of exotic
creatures from around the world. There will be a chance to get up close and
personal with some of our animal visitors. Those participants who wish may even
have a chance to touch some of the animals.
Live animals may include a Sugar-Glider, Alligator, Ring-Tailed Lemur or
Bush Baby (live animals). Registration is required and begins the Thursday
prior to the program.
“Just like Mary”
On Thursday, August 13, the library will be hosting Linda
Pecks’ entertaining Just like Mary
program from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. In an array of colorful props, hats,
scarves, balloons and more Linda combines circus illusions, mime and tight rope
to bring her character to life. Linda will pop into the library as Mary Poppins
and bring some tidbits of wisdom out of her carpet bag as well as a bunch of
her magic including a giant hat rack and more.
