he leaps up the falls.

Adult Summer Reading Program
Are
you ready for reading fun and adventure?
Our sixth annual Adult Summer Reading Program begins June 1, 2015 and
runs through August 31, 2015. This year’s theme is “Escape the Ordinary” where
we can find heroes in literature, mythology, and within ourselves. Participants may register at any time at the
Reference Desk where they will receive an information sheet about the program
and a Tic-Tac-Toe card to be completed during the summer. This sheet can be
turned in when three blocks are completed for a chance to win a prize. The
first participants to register will also receive a sign-up incentive which is a
small green fabric wallet. This
travel-sized accessory is perfect for holding some of your everyday essentials,
library card, license, and coins, while enjoying an exciting summer escape.
Please note that quantities of the sign-up incentive are limited and are
available first come, first serve.
For
every book read after registering for the program, participants will receive
one raffle ticket. These tickets can be completed and returned for entry into
weekly raffle drawings. Prizes for the weekly raffle drawings include a variety
of items; many of them featuring the “Escape the Ordinary” logo or gift
certificates to local restaurants. The participant who reads the most books
over the summer will receive a Grand Prize gift basket.
Check out our
central display each month over the summer for a selection of reading material
with different topics relating to the theme, such as Literary Heroes,
Experience Something New, and Heroes of Myth and Folklore. Additionally, there will be a quiz to be
completed each month and returned to the Reference Desk. Quizzes are available
at the central display. Every completed quiz that answers all questions
correctly will be entered into a monthly prize drawing.
