On Thursday, February 12 at 7:00 p.m. the Leach Library will host Abraham Lincoln, as he is brought vividly to life by historical re-enactor, Steve Wood.
Mr. Wood is the one hundred and eighteenth member of the
Association of Lincoln Presenters (ALP) and has portrayed the deceased
president at schools, libraries, historical societies, and community events in
New Hampshire and Vermont since 1995. He has also been featured in New
Hampshire Magazine, on WMUR (NH) Chronicle,
WCVB (Boston) Chronicle, and New
Hampshire Public Radio’s The Exchange.
In this program, Mr. Lincoln will recount the early days of
his life. He will also discuss debates with such people as Stephen Douglas, his
run for presidency, and the Civil War before ending with a reading of the
“Gettysburg Address”.
This presentation is free and open to the public with
seating limited to the first 90 individuals. It will be held in the library’s
lower-level meeting room. Light refreshments will be served.
