Leach Library to Host ‘Haunted History of New England’

On Thursday, October 17 at 7:00 p.m. the Leach Library will host author-historian Christopher Daley as he melds historical fact together with myth and legend in the slideshow presentation, “Haunted History of New England”.

Christopher Daley has been presenting history lectures at libraries and historical societies throughout New England for over 20 years. He received both his Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree from Bridgewater State University. Currently, he is a history teacher in the Silver Lake Regional School System in Kingston, Massachusetts.

In this one hour slide-show presentation, Mr. Daley will provide an interesting and fascinating new look at events that really happened and the stories of haunting that followed. Brief videos highlighting the settings of these historical haunted incidents are also incorporated into the presentation. Some of the hauntings discussed in this lecture will include the Mount Washington Hotel, Giles Corey and the Curse of Salem, Mercy Brown “The Vampire” of Exeter, Rhode Island, and the John Alden House in Duxbury, Massachusetts, among others.

This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Londonderry Leach Library. It is free and open to the public with seating limited to the first 100 people and will be held in the library’s lower-level meeting room. Light refreshments will be served.
