Leach Library Children’s Room hosts annual Summer Reading Program

The summer is here and it’s time to get geared up for this year’s Summer Reading Program! The theme for our program is “Dig into Reading”. The library is pleased to be able to offer some great programs and activities this summer, including craft days, trivia contests and guessing games, just to name a few. There will also be special programs and performers throughout the summer.

Have a mammoth good time with this summer’s reading program! All reading program participants will work on one team to try to read enough books to dig a tunnel the length of Mammoth Road in Londonderry, from the Windham Town line in the south, to the Manchester Town line in the North and back again, with a total goal of 34,496 yards, or 19.6 miles! Each book read will equal one yard of tunnel dug. Follow our worm as it tracks our progress through the tunnel. Registration for the program begins June 1 in the Children’s Room. Sign up and receive a fun activity pack and an information packet, which includes a calendar of all the wonderful events scheduled for this summer.
