Leach Library Hosts ‘The Adventures of Benjamin Franklin’

On Thursday, February 21 at 7:00 p.m. the Leach Library will host Founding Father, Benjamin Franklin, as he is brought vividly to life by historical re-enactor, J.T. Turner.

J.T. Turner is a professional actor, director, voice-talent and a veteran of over 140 stage productions, with credits in film, radio, and television. For more than twenty-six years, Turner has been bringing his unique talent and humor to audiences around the area with his professional storytelling, seminars, and public speaking engagements. He is the Artistic Director of The Actors Company, based in Ipswich, MA; as well as a historical re-enactor, who tours as Benjamin Franklin, Charles Dickens, Aesop, and William Shakespeare. Turner can be heard in many audio recordings, and on XM radio, as Father Brown in “The Father Brown Series.”

In this one-man show, Turner recreates the rich and colorful life of Benjamin Franklin, one of the world’s greatest statesmen and authors. Weaving a tale of history and humor, Dr. Franklin will recount his life from his youth in Boston through his days as a printer in Philadelphia, and then his years as an inventor, philanthropist, and revolutionary.

This presentation is free and open to the public. It will be held in the library’s lower-level meeting room. Light refreshments will be served.
