Musician Casey Abrams at the Leach Library

On Thursday, April 12 at 7:00 p.m., the Londonderry Leach Library will host a musical evening with acoustic jazz and folk guitarist Casey Abrams.

Casey Abrams is a songwriter and performer who has a degree in composition and jazz guitar, and he has long held an interest in the development and history of American music. He has released several albums that have received international sales and airplay, including his latest album “Oh, You Kid!” where he distills two hundred years of American music. His music is known for its surprising yet familiar earthy, organic, and distinctly American sound, and he has performed at a variety of venues across the country sharing the stage with the likes of Joan Baez, Richie Havens and Eric Burden.

In this program, Mr. Abrams will perform his own songs as well as works by traditional American writers from the folk tradition up through the twentieth century. Through the performance, the audience will see how American music has developed, as well as how musical forms have influenced one another over the years as he plays songs from across the decades.

The event is being sponsored by the Friends of the Londonderry Leach Library. It is free and open to the public, and will be held in the library’s lower-level meeting room. Light refreshments will be served.
