Leach Library to Host “Birds of the White Mountains”

On Thursday, May 13 at 7:00 p.m., the Leach Library will host “Birds of the White Mountains” with Professor Stephen Hale. This presentation will feature the variety of birds living in the White Mountains and will include a colorful slideshow and audio recordings.

Professor Stephen Hale is a research associate at the Joan and James Leitzel Center for Mathematics, Science and Engineering Education at the University of New Hampshire. His research interests include climate change and vertebrate distribution modeling and mapping using satellite remote sensing and geographic information systems.

The program is being coordinated through the University of New Hampshire Speakers Bureau which connects faculty and staff speakers with non-profit organizations to share the research and knowledge of the university with the people and communities of New Hampshire.

The event is being sponsored by the Friends of the Londonderry Leach Library. It is free and open to the public, and will be held in the library’s lower-level meeting room. Light refreshments will be served.
